Welcome to my creative playground. I work in mixed media, employing acrylics, watercolours, gouache, as well as incorporating pencils, pastels, spray paint and more. Painting the world around me and my response to it Art has taken me on many an adventure. Including but not limited to the world of YouTube, Artbattle 20min paintings and Upfest street art festival. Lots of fun and I have met awesome creatives and art lovers along the way.
I cherish connecting with like-minded authentic humans to share this creative journey with and to express myself not just through painting, but in all aspects of life.
“The fact that I myself, at the moment of painting, do not understand my own pictures, does not mean that these pictures have no meaning; on the contrary, their meaning is so profound, complex, coherent, and involuntary that it escapes the most simple analysis of logical intuition.”
“In my case all painting… is an accident. I foresee it and yet I hardly ever carry it out as I foresee it. It transforms itself by the actual paint. I don’t in fact know very often what the paint will do, and it does many things which are very much better than I could make it do.”

“Time — A Conduit for Change”
Original Acrylic Painting by Bristol-Based Artist Chris Shopland
8 x 8 inch canvas
Time — A Conduit for Change is a deeply personal exploration of reflection, growth, and the shifting seasons of a life. As I approach my 39th year and the close of 2025, I’ve found myself—as I do at the end of every year—wondering what it all truly means. What is it all about? Art gives me that meaning as many things do.
This piece emerged from a vivid image I’ve carried for some time: an older figure, not necessarily myself, gazing back over the landscape of their life, held within a burning heart. The flame represents both passion and impermanence, while the heart becomes a vessel for memory, transformation, and the passage of time, as well as showing the older figure has compassion.
Painted in acrylic on an 8 x 8 inch canvas, the artwork invites the viewer to pause and reflect on their own journey—past, present, and the chapters still unwritten. While being a striking image.
