This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through this website.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including square space or any third party services you access through their services that do not relate to me. Information I Collect

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised the sqaurespace and its systems such as stripe and PayPal within this website (cjshopland.com to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of paintings for example), if you contact me directly.

I use square space as host which is a trusted platform for building and hosting websites, so any information about my store is referred to as square space. You may opt in to receive my newsletter/blog elsewhere on my site. When you receive an email, you may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of each newsletter. My blog is powered and newsletter is also powered by Squarespace.

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.

What I collect and store

While you visit our site, it will track:

Products you’ve viewed: for example, to show you products you’ve recently viewed
Location, IP address and browser type: site will use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from me, I’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. I’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

Send you information about your account and order
Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
Process payments and prevent fraud
Set up your account for our store
Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
Improve our store offerings
Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to auto fill the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

What I share with others

I will share the postal address with the post services, and in some cases overseas requires an email and phone number for customs purposes. These were be reputable postal services, such as, but not limited to Fedex, and third party postal comparison such as parcel2go.

Payments

Payments are handled through square space, however these will allow third party payment systems such as Apple Pay, google pay and PayPal.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

As needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as

providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and
Compliance with our selling Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations..

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Squarespace, izettle if we met in person, and paypal. I share information with these entities as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations our Policy and Terms of Use.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.

Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 7 years

Transfers of Personal Information

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the UK and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction.

The United Kingdom, European Economic Area (“EEA”) Member States, United States and other countries all have different laws. When your information is moved from your home country to another country, the laws and rules that protect your personal information in the country to which your information is transferred may be different from those in the country in which you live. For example, the circumstances in which law enforcement can access personal information may vary from country to country. In particular, if your information is in that country of origin, it may be accessed by government authorities in accordance with their laws.

In the event I need to transfer information I will seek advice for the best secure way in doing so, such as privacy shield. I will keep data in accordance to data protection act. Check square space privacy policy for how they store this data via the websites build using their system

Your Rights

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information (such as send a product purchased by you before deleting information) or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
