Accumulated Life – A Story in Objects

"Accumulated Life" stands apart from my other paintings, embracing a collage-like style filled with intricate elements that form a vibrant, comic-inspired landscape, rather than one focal point. The idea behind this piece stems from the countless things we accumulate throughout life—objects we can’t take with us, yet they hold deep personal significance.

I’ve always been fascinated by the little details in people's homes—bookshelves filled with well-loved stories, fridge magnet letters spelling out forgotten messages, family shopping lists pinned to the fridge, and sentimental keepsakes. While children is not the life for me and opted for the four legged kind, all of these relics whether family orientated or the bread crumbs of our existence individually, all speak about us. They tell a unique narrative, reflecting a life lived, filled with hopes, dreams, interests, fears, and desires. That sense of nostalgia is what I aimed to capture in this painting, or perhaps more of a crime scene of a life hundreds of years from now, either way things, while in the constraints of society still say something bout us. Buying art isn’t just an object but of that person, I wonder what my art says about me and those who buy it? The objects we collect, clutter can be beautiful, well, when painted anyway.

Creating this piece was an incredibly fun process, even though its busy composition initially felt daunting. I wanted it to evoke the feeling of a writer’s cluttered desk—coffee rings, scattered notes, and the beautiful chaos of creativity in motion. The result is a dynamic, layered scene that invites viewers to explore and discover something new with each glance.
