Woman in lily pond by Artist Chris Shopland paint sketch study
This piece is a practice sketch exploring challenging angles, particularly one I often struggle with. Whenever I find something difficult, I try to work through it, even though my passion sometimes pulls me in other directions. I love painting figures, and this pose pushed me out of my comfort zone, so I gave it a go. Over time, I've learned that there’s always someone who will connect with your art at the right price, which is why I chose not to paint over this study, but to share it instead. I’m also drawn to the symbolism of lilies, water, and rebirth—elements that appear in many of my more playful, experimental works (see featured products).
