Meditation ink splat original artwork by Artist Chris Shopland ink and charcoal on A3 paper
As an expressionism artist I follow the emotions but also the concentration levels. I am always itching to create the multitude of ideas flowing into me, channeled from some unknown magic. Sometimes I just need to let the pen travel and flow, this is one from the past but I expect that is what happened. the desire to be at peace and so I relaxed by drawing someone at peace, I expect the ink splats happened either ion purpose from above but unable to aim, or from moving artwork about while working on another piece. Either way these are the most perfect ink splats I have seen. I often see beauty in the way the materials behave in of themselves, and this is a perfect example of that.
Perhaps this early work, I guess around 2008, could be a welcome addition to future collectors collections to show the tory of progression within the artist’s work. I found a =different approach that comes form the soul but rediscovering my previous works, makes me want to grab the charcoal once more.
