"To Hum is King"
To Hum is King has often been mistaken for a hummingbird, but it’s actually a piece inspired by my lifelong mission to capture the beauty of a kingfisher. Despite the bird's form being slightly off, people are drawn to the vibrant colours, and it’s been wonderful to see this piece appreciated by so many—especially with the large A1 prints that have sold recently.

This print is medium-sized, measuring 30 × 42 cm (paper size). The original has already sold, but this Giclée print captures the energy and colors of the piece beautifully.

In my journey to photograph a kingfisher, I’ve had plenty of near-misses. I've seen them and taken photos, but so far, the most I’ve caught on camera is their silhouette. It’s always when I’m out with my dog and just my iPhone in hand that they decide to make an appearance. Perhaps one day I’ll finally get that perfect shot! Although finding the correct shutter seem will be a puzzle with how fast they travel.

For now, To Hum is King is a reminder of the vibrant world around us and the elusive beauty of nature that still seems to thrive despite what humans do to this planet.
